Youth Advisory Board

Our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a scientific advisory, service-learning, and leadership development program where youth, between the ages of 14 and 17, serve as advisors and ambassadors to the Center’s faculty, mentees, and staff. We aim to mobilize the next generation of scientists and community leaders! Read more here about the YAB!

Who serves on the board?

Currently, five ambassadors from around the Phoenix valley serve on the CHPDP YAB.

Why should YOU join the YAB?

  • Advise the Center in the design and implementation of research projects that benefit youth, their families, and their communities
  • Meet and work with other youth from around the valley
  • Obtain service learning experience, community service hours, and leadership skills
  • Interact with students, faculty, and staff and explore the innovative ASU campus

Member Qualifications

  1. Your parent/guardian has given you permission to serve as a board member.
  2. You are between the ages of 14 and 17 years of age.
  3. You are available to attend two meeting per month.
  4. You are willing to volunteer your time and share your thoughts and ideas about health promotion and disease prevention with others (variety of topics).
  5. You have asked for another adult's recommendation.
